The challenge
Aether Labs sold premium hardware on a heavy, plugin-laden store that took five seconds to load. Mobile shoppers bounced before the page even rendered, and the conversion rate was well below industry benchmarks.
What we did
- Rebuilt the store headless — a fast front end backed by a modern commerce engine, so the storefront was no longer hostage to bloated themes and plugins.
- Obsessed over Core Web Vitals — image optimisation, code-splitting, lazy loading and a CDN brought load time from 5s to 1.1s.
- Redesigned the product and checkout flow around clarity and trust: clearer specs, social proof, and a frictionless checkout.
- Instrumented everything so conversion could be measured and improved continuously after launch.
The results
The new build scored a perfect 100 on Lighthouse, loaded in 1.1 seconds, and lifted conversion rate 67% — turning the same traffic into substantially more revenue.
